Kioxia Launches Affordable PCIe Gen4 SSDs with BiCS6 Technology.

Kioxia has introduced the BG6 series of M.2 2230 client NVMe SSDs, which updates the NAND generation from BiCS5 to BiCS6 for select capacities, allowing for 2TB M.2 2230 SSDs to be brought to market. The BG6 series continues the DRAMless strategy and dual-chip design of the BG5, with performance numbers now placing it in the mainstream category for PCIe 4.0 SSDs. The company is focusing on the 1TB and 2TB SKUs due to higher demand, with the drives expected to be available for consumers in the holiday season or early next year.
