Architecture studio Hassell has designed a scalable system of inflatable pods for the European Space Agency's Lunar Habitat Master Plan, intended to house 144 people near the Shackleton Crater at the South Lunar Pole. The pods would be partly constructed from moon materials and 3D-printed on site, with satellite panels for power. The design aims to address the challenges of living on the moon, including radiation exposure and access to water and oxygen, and is intended for use by national space agencies and commercial space companies.
