"Hindu Worship Resumes in Gyanvapi Cellar After Court Ruling"

After 30 years, Hindu priests have resumed the worship of Shringar Gauri and other deities in the southern cellar of Gyanvapi Masjid in Varanasi, following a court order. The resumption of the puja was supervised by senior officials and a Vedic scholar, with elaborate rituals and offerings taking place. The district judge had given the administration seven days to make arrangements for regular worship, and the cellar was cleaned and prepared for the rituals. Devotees were allowed to have a glimpse of the presiding deity through a small window after the afternoon aarti.
