Cambrian fossils unveil four camera-type eyes in early vertebrates

New fossils from Cambrian myllokunmingids reveal pineal/parapineal organs with lens-like structures and melanosomes identical to retinal pigment epithelium, implying these ancient vertebrates had four camera-type eyes and supporting deep homology between eyes and the pineal complex.
