Titanic Explorer Honored by Salvage Rights Owners
RMS Titanic Inc., the company that owns the salvage rights to the Titanic wreck, is holding a virtual memorial for Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a renowned expert on the ship who died in a submersible explosion along with four others. Nargeolet, the director of underwater research for RMS Titanic Inc., had explored the Titanic numerous times before. The memorial will be streamed publicly and aims to provide an outlet for the global Titanic and oceanographic communities to remember Nargeolet. The event coincides with the opening of an exhibit in Paris showcasing artifacts recovered by Nargeolet and his team. The cause of the submersible implosion is still under investigation.
