"Gov. Hochul's $150M NY SWIMS Plan to Launch Floating East River Pool by 2025"

New York City is set to introduce a unique 9,000-square-foot floating pool, known as "+Pool," in the East River by 2025. The X-shaped pool will undergo testing this summer to ensure its river water filtration system meets health standards. The project, which aims to expand swimming access amid rising heat waves, is supported by $12 million from New York State and $4 million from the city. The +Pool initiative, which began with a Kickstarter campaign in 2013, has gained support over the years, including a partnership with Heineken and an endorsement from Neil Patrick Harris.
