'General Hospital' Star Johnny Wactor Fatally Shot in Catalytic Converter Theft

"General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor was fatally shot early Saturday while confronting three men attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car in Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Wactor, who had been working as a bartender, was walking a co-worker to her car when he noticed the thieves and was shot. The 37-year-old actor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on "General Hospital," was pronounced dead at the hospital. The theft of catalytic converters has surged in California, leading to new state laws to curb the crime.
