OU Taps Roger Denny to Guide Sooner Athletics into a New Era

On Jan. 23, 2026, the University of Oklahoma named Roger Denny as its 12th Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Programs and Director of Athletics, with Randall Stephenson remaining as Chair and Special Advisor. Denny, a former Deputy Director of Athletics at Illinois and a seasoned corporate attorney, will lead OU Athletics, focus on expanding opportunities for student‑athletes, oversee coaching and operations, and pursue national championships amid ongoing disruption in college sports.
