Comcast-Spectacor has revealed plans for a $2.5 billion transformation of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, including a new concert venue, hotel, restaurants, retail spaces, and district development. The first phase will feature a 5,000-plus-seat concert venue and enhancements at Xfinity Live!, with completion expected by 2028. A second phase is also in the works, aiming to create a new district with residences, retail, restaurants, and green space within the next decade. However, this announcement coincides with the Philadelphia 76ers' plans to build their own arena and relocate to Center City in 2031, sparking debate over the future of the sports complex.
