Artist Threatens to Destroy Priceless Art in Protest of Julian Assange's Imprisonment

Russian artist Andrei Molodkin plans to lock away $45m worth of artwork in a safe with a corrosive substance, vowing to destroy them if Julian Assange dies in prison. He insists he's not trying to destroy art, but rather spark a discussion on the value of human life versus art. The project, called Dead Man’s Switch, is a collaborative artwork aimed at advocating for Assange's release and freedom of speech. The artworks will only be returned if Assange is released, and the project is backed by Assange's wife and other artists.
