Midwest States Experience Dangerous Air Quality Levels.

On June 14, Minneapolis recorded its worst air quality day ever with an AQI reading of 243, equivalent to smoking 8.8 cigarettes in a day. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued 19 air quality alerts across the state since mid-May, with seven ozone alerts, the most ever in the state. The increase in cars on the road and wildfire smoke from Canada are contributing factors to the poor air quality. Minnesotans are advised to limit their time outdoors and wear an N95 mask on days with pervasive wildfire smoke.
