Keith Reid, Lyricist of "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum, Passes Away.

Keith Reid, the lyricist who co-wrote Procol Harum's hit song A Whiter Shade Of Pale, has died at the age of 76. Reid wrote all of Procol Harum's lyrics until 2017 and also wrote John Farnham's hit song You're The Voice. Although he never played any instruments, his imaginative and surreal lyrics were a crucial element of Procol Harum's appeal. Reid's family said a private funeral would be held soon.

Reid’s best known song was the Procol Harum classic ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’. Keith was also a co-writer with Chris Thompson, Andy Qunta and Maggie Ryder of John Farnham’s classic ‘You’re The Voice’.
