Procol Harum's lyricist Keith Reid passes away at 76.
Keith Reid, the lyricist for Procol Harum, has died at the age of 76 after receiving cancer treatment for two years. Reid's poetic vision on "A Whiter Shade of Pale" made it a defining song of the 1960s. He wrote almost all of the band's lyrics across nine albums and had another chart success in 1986 with a song for Australian pop singer John Farnham, entitled "You're the Voice". Reid also released two solo albums and worked as a manager for other artists.
