Decoding 'The Marvels': A Mixed Bag of Superhero Surprises

In the ending of "The Marvels," the multiverse is in chaos as a villain tears a hole in space and time. The titular superheroes, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau, must merge their powers to repair it. Monica sacrifices herself by going through the rip into another dimension. In a post-credits scene, Monica wakes up in a different universe where she encounters an alternate version of her mother. Kelsey Grammer makes a surprise cameo as Beast, marking the second "X-Men" crossover into the MCU. The film also teases the formation of the Young Avengers, with Ms. Marvel inviting Kate Bishop to join the team. The MCU is setting up these two storylines and teams for future movies.
