Dylan Babbitt, a 25-year-old man from Wethersfield, Connecticut, was charged with DUI after driving in the wrong direction on Route 5 in South Windsor. He was stopped by police and found to be under the influence of alcohol. Babbitt failed field sobriety tests and was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 3rd.

Abby Michaels, who was accused of intentionally driving the wrong way on I-75 and killing a Mason family, has been found not guilty on murder and aggravated vehicular homicide charges. Michaels' defense attorneys argued that she was having a seizure and was not in control of her car. The prosecution claimed it was a suicide attempt, but the judge found the testimony of Michaels' husband, who said she planned to drive backward on the highway, to be untrue.

Three people died and one was seriously injured in a head-on collision in Sumter County, Florida. The crash occurred when a 42-year-old man from Winter Haven drove the wrong way and collided with another car carrying three people. The driver of the second car and one of her passengers died at the scene, while the other passenger was hospitalized with serious injuries. The intersection was closed for several hours while the Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.

Two drivers were killed in a head-on collision on I-696 in Southfield, Michigan early Saturday morning. The drivers of a 2022 Ford F-150 and a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck each other head-on in the center-right lane on WB I-696. Both cars were traveling in the same lane, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee going the wrong way. This is the second head-on crash on I-696 this week, with the previous one resulting in a driver's death in Macomb County. Michigan State Police are investigating the cause of the crashes.

A 22-year-old New Hampshire woman, Kayiba K. Christelle, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving the wrong way down I-93. Police had to use tire deflation devices to stop her after she continued driving with popped tires. Christelle has been charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, reckless operation, and driving while intoxicated. She was released on bail and will appear in court on May 18.

The police used spike strips to stop her, but she continued driving for over a mile. She was eventually stopped by Concord police and released on bail, with a court date set for May 18.

A wrong-way driving incident on Interstate 280 near San Mateo turned deadly when a white Ford sedan traveling north in the southbound lanes crashed into a black BMW heading south, killing the driver, a Caucasian woman in her 40s. A 14-year-old boy in the BMW was taken to the hospital with "major" injuries, while the driver of the Ford was arrested and taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
