The Lunar Clock: Timekeeping on the Moon

Space organizations around the world have agreed to implement a proper lunar time zone, an internationally accepted common lunar reference time that all future missions can use to communicate and navigate with ease. Dr. Kenneth L. Franklin, a well-known American astronomer, developed a special formula for telling time on the moon in 1970, and using his calculations, a then well-known watch company, Helbros, actually developed a wristwatch that could provide at a glance the precise time on the moon. The watch was based on the lunar synodic month or lunation, and the face of the watch actually gave the time in lunours, centilunours, and millilunours.

Macron's Watch Controversy Amid Protests and TV Interview

A video of French President Emmanuel Macron removing his wristwatch during a TV interview went viral, with claims that the "luxury" item is worth €80,000 ($85,000). However, French media reports debunked the claim, stating that the watch is made by Bell and Ross and costs between €1,600 and €2,400. Macron removed the watch to prevent noise from being picked up by sensitive microphones. The protests were against the Macron government's decision to use special constitutional powers to sidestep a parliamentary vote on the bill that will raise the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64.
