Gen Z workers express a strong desire to work in the office, valuing face-to-face interactions and the opportunity to learn from more experienced colleagues. However, many managers and senior employees are opting to work remotely, which can hinder the development and growth of younger employees who rely on observing and interacting with higher-ups. Despite efforts by employers to bring workers back to the office, occupancy rates remain low. Gen Zers believe that the office environment fosters camaraderie and provides invaluable mentorship opportunities that cannot be replicated through remote work.
