Wisconsin BK Franchise Faces Over 1,600 Child-Labor Violations
MADISON, Wis.—Cave Enterprises Operations LLC, which runs 105 Wisconsin Burger King franchises, is accused of more than 1,600 child-labor and wage-violation findings affecting over 600 minors between 2020 and January 2025. Violations include 14- and 15-year-olds working without proper permits and minors working six hours or more without mandated meal breaks. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development ordered payment of more than $230,000 in unpaid wages and overtime plus an $828,000 fine, with the Wisconsin DOJ pursuing enforcement if penalties are not paid.
