Armed Man Arrested for Seeking Governor Returns with Assault Rifle
A man who was previously arrested for bringing a handgun to the Wisconsin Capitol returned later with an assault rifle, demanding to see Governor Tony Evers. He was taken into custody without incident and bailed himself out of jail, only to return with a loaded AK-47 style rifle. The man was again taken into custody for psychiatric evaluation, and the rifle was seized. The governor's office declined to comment on matters of security, but Governor Evers expressed gratitude for the police departments' work and suggested that security policies may be enhanced.
