Armed Man Arrested at Wisconsin Capitol, Returns with Assault Rifle
A man was arrested at the Wisconsin Capitol for carrying a firearm and demanding to speak to the governor, then returned hours later with an assault-style rifle. He was taken into custody for a psychiatric evaluation after making concerning statements. The man did not have a valid concealed carry permit for a collapsible police-style baton found in his possession. The governor's office declined to comment on specific security threats. In a separate incident, a man was sentenced to over a year in prison for threatening state officials, including the governor, via social media and other means.
