"Wi-Fi 7: Turbocharging Wireless Speeds in 2024"
Wi-Fi 7, also known as 802.11be, is set to become a concrete standard by the end of Q1 2024, offering speeds up to 40 Gbit/s and being nearly five times faster than Wi-Fi 6. While routers with support for the draft version of Wi-Fi 7 are already available, a firmware update will be required to bring them up to speed once the standard is finalized. However, client devices also need to support Wi-Fi 7 in order to benefit from the increased speed. Currently, there are only a few devices with Wi-Fi 7 support, but this is expected to change in the near future.
