Two dead ducks found at Lake Louise in Weaverville, N.C., have tested positive for Avian Influenza, according to town officials. The disease poses a threat to domestic poultry but is not hazardous to humans. Wildlife officials urge reporting of suspected sick waterfowl or domestic poultry to prevent the spread of the disease.

Jordan Rivera, a 23-year-old man from Florida, lost his arm after being attacked by an alligator while trying to pee by a pond. He woke up in a hospital with his arm gone from his upper elbow. The alligator was removed from the pond and euthanized. Rivera is facing the risk of bacterial infection from the alligator bite and could spend up to six days in the hospital before beginning rehabilitation.
