
Tropical Storm Bret Strengthens and Moves Westward, Bringing Rains to Dominican Republic and Flooding to Gulf Coast.
Tropical Storm Bret is expected to strengthen as it moves westward towards the Lesser Antilles, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm is currently located about 1,130 miles east of the southern Windward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. There are no coastal watches or warnings currently in effect, and Bret does not pose a threat to the U.S. mainland at this time.
