Pittsburgh sports broadcasting icon Stan Savran passes away at 76.
Longtime Pittsburgh sports broadcaster Stan Savran has passed away at the age of 76 after being diagnosed with lung cancer last year. Savran held several radio positions in Pittsburgh before a 10-year run at WTAE-TV in the 80s. He later served as a Pittsburgh Penguins analyst on AT&T Sports Network and hosted pre- and post-game shows for the Penguins and Pirates on ATTSN. His versatility and dedication earned him a place in the Western Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Steelers President Art Rooney II called him a "legendary person" and "media icon."
