Russia Rejects Macron's Participation in BRICS Summit with Allies
French President Emmanuel Macron wishes to become the first Western leader to attend a BRICS summit, according to French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna. The BRICS group of large emerging economies is the Global South’s answer to the G7 group of Western industrialized countries. South Africa will host the next summit of BRICS countries in Johannesburg on August 22-24. If he is given an invite, Macron would be the first Western leader to attend.
