Hospital Worker at Sharpe Hospital in West Virginia Charged with Sexual Offense Against Patient

Keefe Kiser, an employee at William R. Sharpe Jr. Hospital in Weston, West Virginia, has been charged with five counts of imposition of sexual acts on an incarcerated individual by an employee. State Police received a complaint from Southern Regional Jail regarding a romantic relationship between Kiser and a female inmate. The victim confirmed the relationship and stated that it turned sexual in March, with multiple instances of sexual intercourse and other activities occurring inside her room at the hospital. Kiser is currently held in Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond. The hospital declined to comment on Kiser's employment status.

Multiple Missing Teens Found and Safely Returned to Authorities

West Virginia Mourns Fallen State Trooper Killed in Ambush Attack.

First responders from Marion County and beyond paid their respects to Sgt. Cory Maynard, a fallen state trooper who was shot and killed while responding to a shooting call in Mingo County. Maynard was an organ donor, and his body was transported from Charleston to Pittsburgh, passing under the Fairmont Gateway bridge. Emergency service vehicles and dozens of EMS volunteers and employees lined I-79 as the convoy carrying Maynard’s body drove by. Maynard, who was originally from Belfry, Kentucky, was sworn into the West Virginia State Police on October 9, 2007, and is survived by his wife and two children.

WVSP trooper fatally shot in Mingo County, suspect in custody.

Timothy Kennedy, 29, has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of West Virginia State Police Sgt. Cory Maynard. Maynard was shot while investigating a shooting call in Beech Creek. Kennedy was taken into custody after a seven-hour manhunt. Maynard was a decorated trooper who had been honored with a Lifesaving Award in 2015. Ohio man arrested with large amounts of drugs after high-speed pursuit.

A high-speed pursuit on I-77 in West Virginia ended with the arrest of Gary Bland Jr., who was found to have a large amount of oxycodone pills and other drug contraband in his vehicle. Bland Jr. will be charged with Fleeing With Reckless Indifference & Possession With Intent To Deliver upon medical release. No injuries were reported and no vehicles were damaged during the pursuit.
