Fatal Ambush: WVSP Trooper and Second Victim Shot

A West Virginia State Police trooper, Sgt. Cory Maynard, was fatally shot in an ambush-type situation in Mingo County, while another person was also shot and their condition is unknown. The suspect, Timothy Kennedy, remains on the run and is considered armed and dangerous. Residents in the Beech Creek area have been advised to shelter in their homes, and schools in the area are under lockdown. The investigation is ongoing.
