Clarence Thomas' Undisclosed Freebies: Investigation Reveals More
An investigation has revealed that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has received undisclosed freebies from wealthy individuals connected to the Horatio Alger Association, including lavish vacations, V.I.P. access to events, and funding for a documentary about his life. Thomas has not reported many of these benefits and gifts, and he declined to answer questions about the matter. The investigation also highlights Thomas' close relationship with billionaire businessman Harlan Crow, who has provided him with private jet and yacht trips, as well as purchasing a house for Thomas' mother. The court recently updated its disclosure rules, but there is an exception for "personal hospitality."
