Ovechkin's Record Pursuit Paused by Injury Setback
Alex Ovechkin, captain of the Washington Capitals, is sidelined for four to six weeks due to a fractured fibula sustained in a game against the Utah Hockey Club. Despite the injury, Ovechkin was seen without a cast or crutches at a recent Capitals practice, though he was limping slightly. This injury marks the longest absence of his 20-season NHL career. Before the injury, Ovechkin was leading the league in goals and was on track to challenge Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals record.
