"Global Cybercrime Bust: FBI Dismantles Warzone RAT Infrastructure and Arrests Key Malware Vendors"
The FBI has taken down the Warzone RAT malware operation, arresting two individuals and seizing infrastructure associated with the cybercrime. Daniel Meli, 27, from Malta, was arrested for his involvement in the proliferation of Warzone RAT, while Prince Onyeoziri Odinakachi, 31, from Nigeria, was also arrested for providing customer support to cybercriminals buying access to the malware. The international law enforcement effort led by the FBI resulted in identifying and confiscating server infrastructure linked to the malware in multiple countries. The U.S. Department of Justice is seeking the extradition of Daniel Meli from Malta to the United States for trial.
