"German Tourists Accused of Toppling Historic Italian Statue"
A group of young German tourists visiting Villa Alceo in northern Italy have been accused of toppling a 150-year-old statue valued at around €200,000. The tourists were reportedly posing for pictures when two of them climbed into a fountain to hug the statue, while another pushed it with a stick, causing it to crash to the ground. The villa's manager has filed a complaint with the local police against all 17 tourists, who have since left Italy. The incident, captured by surveillance cameras, has caused additional damage to the fountain tiles, making repairs difficult.
