NASA's Laser Technology Transforms Space Communication

NASA's Deep Space Optical Communications (DSOC) technology has successfully transmitted a laser beam from nearly 10 million miles away, thanks to a precision pointing system developed with the help of Controlled Dynamics Inc. This system isolates the laser from spacecraft vibrations, ensuring accurate targeting. Supported by NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate and tested through the Flight Opportunities program, the technology was launched aboard the Psyche spacecraft in 2023. DSOC's achievements have earned it recognition as one of TIME's Inventions of 2024.

"ESA Explores the Periphery of Earthquake Zones"

The European Space Agency's ESTEC Test Centre in the Netherlands uses the Hydra shaker table, capable of simulating rocket launch vibrations for satellite testing. The 18-tonne test table is enclosed within a 1400-tonne concrete block, supported by springs and dampers to prevent vibrations from spreading through the building. Operated by European Test Services, the ESTEC Test Centre is the largest facility of its kind in Europe, offering comprehensive satellite testing equipment.
