"Hyundai Recalls 38k Elantra Hybrids for Unintended Acceleration"
Hyundai is recalling nearly 40,000 Elantra HEV vehicles due to a software error that can cause unintended acceleration after releasing the brake pedal, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall covers certain 2021-2023 Elantra HEV vehicles, and affected owners will receive notification letters by October 17. Hyundai dealerships will update the motor control unit software free of charge. This comes after Hyundai recalled over 52,000 vehicles earlier this month due to a separate issue related to damaged electrical components in the Idle Stop & Go oil pump assembly.
