New York Attorney General Letitia James stated that the expert witnesses presented by Donald Trump in her civil fraud case against him and his real estate empire are actually helping her case. One expert admitted that the valuations of some properties on Trump's financial statements were improper, while another testified that Trump personally asked for his help in the trial. James also claimed that Trump's political action committee paid an accounting professor to testify that the value of Trump's triplex was inflated. Of the 11 experts called by the defense, two testified for free, and the rest cost Trump's legal team over $2 million. The trial seeks $250 million in penalties and a ban on Trump and his associates from doing business in New York.
