The US has evacuated all diplomatic staff from Sudan, with military operations underway to secure and rescue US citizens and government employees trapped in the war-torn nation. The vast majority of the 16,000 US citizens in Sudan are dual-nationals who have not expressed an interest in leaving, but the US military is moving more assets to the area to accommodate all circumstances.
