Ureilite Meteorite Forms Dhala Impact Crater in Madhya Pradesh: Study
Scientists from Allahabad University and the University of Bern have discovered that the Dhala impact crater in Madhya Pradesh, India, was formed by an ancient and rare meteorite known as Ureilite. Ureilites are a small fraction of meteorites on Earth and contain silicate rock, carbon, metal sulphides, and fine-grained silicates. The meteorite, estimated to be one kilometer in diameter, crashed into Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 15 km/s, creating the Dhala impact structure. Further research aims to uncover more secrets about this rare meteorite crater and its potential role in Earth's water and the development of life.
