Justice Served: Dexter Wade Finally Laid to Rest
A mother in Jackson, Mississippi, buried her son, Dexter Wade, 8½ months after he disappeared, only to discover that he had been killed by an off-duty officer in March and buried in an unmarked grave. Despite having a state-issued identification card on him, Wade was buried in a pauper's grave. The mother had filed a missing-person report in March, but it took more than five months for police to confirm her son's death. The incident has sparked outrage, with civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton calling it "one of the most disgraceful things" he's ever heard. The Hinds County district attorney's office is conducting a review of the situation.
