
Tuskegee University Shooting: Campus Lockdown and Arrests Follow Tragic Incident
A Montgomery man, Jacquez Myrick, was arrested after a mass shooting at Tuskegee University, where he admitted to firing a gun equipped with a Glock switch but denied shooting anyone. Myrick is charged with possessing a handgun with a machine gun conversion device. The shooting resulted in the death of 18-year-old La’Tavion Johnson and injuries to 16 others. Myrick initially denied firing his weapon but later confessed to using the gun, which he claimed to have modified himself. Authorities are seeking to keep him in custody, citing him as a flight risk and community danger.
