Tuskegee coach handcuffed after Morehouse handshake incident; civil rights attorneys engaged
Tuskegee University men's basketball coach Benjy Taylor was briefly handcuffed on the court after a 77–69 loss at Morehouse, during a postgame handshake line that security says became dangerous as players entered the floor. Taylor’s civil rights attorneys say the police officer abused him and may pursue a civil lawsuit, while Taylor contends he was trying to remove Morehouse football players from the line for safety; the incident prompted conflicting accounts from school officials and is under review after Taylor was released and continued with his team.
