Tuskegee coach sues Morehouse for $1M after on-court handcuffing during handshake
Benjy Taylor, head coach of Tuskegee’s men’s basketball team, filed a federal civil lawsuit seeking more than $1 million from Morehouse College and two campus police officers, alleging he was handcuffed on Forbes Arena’s court after a Jan. 31 postgame handshake and detained without charges. The suit claims reputational, emotional and financial harm and notes taunting by Morehouse players; Morehouse and the two officers are named as defendants. Tuskegee officials publicly supported their coach, and the SIAC previously fined Morehouse for safety issues. The case is in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
