Multiple Tropical Systems Form in the Atlantic Ocean
Tropical Storm Emily has formed in the central Atlantic, while Tropical Depression Six and three other disturbances are being monitored by the National Hurricane Center. Emily is expected to weaken and become a post-tropical remnant low in the next few days. Tropical Depression Six is encountering wind shear and is likely to dissipate on Monday. Another disturbance in the eastern Caribbean has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression. South Florida will experience lingering rain and storms as a tropical wave moves westward towards the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center predicts an "above-normal" hurricane season with an increased likelihood of 14-21 named storms, 6-11 hurricanes, and 2-5 major hurricanes.
