DOJ Releases More Than 3 Million Epstein Files With Extensive Redactions

The Department of Justice, led by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, released over 3 million Epstein-related pages—including more than 2,000 videos and 180,000 images—with extensive redactions. About 6 million pages were identified as potentially responsive across Epstein, Maxwell, related investigations, and death inquiries over two decades. Roughly 200,000 pages were withheld for privileges, while the DOJ opened an inbox for victims to report redaction concerns and will allow Congress to view unredacted portions under confidentiality agreements.

Court rejects Congress-backed bid to oversee Epstein file releases

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton told Judge Engelmayer that he cannot appoint a neutral expert to oversee the public release of Epstein/Maxwell documents at the request of Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie, who argue the process is slow and improper. The judge reportedly lacks authority to grant such a remedy, and the lawmakers reportedly have no standing. The DOJ says only about 12,000 of more than 2 million documents have been released due to redactions protecting victims, and Khanna and Massie seek an independent monitor to ensure full disclosure. The DOJ plans to update the court soon on progress.
