Forced labor linked to cyber scams on the rise, says US State Department report.
The US State Department has identified a "rapidly growing and troubling trend" of forced labor linked to cyber scams, particularly in Southeast Asia, as it launched its annual human trafficking report. The report also highlights that men and boys can be victims of trafficking and may not always be recognized as such. The report identifies which governments around the world are meeting the minimum standards to eliminate human trafficking and which have failed in their efforts to combat it. 24 countries, including Russia, China, Afghanistan, Syria, and North Korea, are listed in Tier 3 for failing to meet the minimum standards.
