SeaWorld Orlando is set to open a new roller coaster called "Penguin Trek" in spring 2024. The coaster will take riders on an exhilarating journey through Antarctica, featuring two launches, twists, and turns along a 3,020-foot track. The highlight of the ride is its finale, where guests will find themselves in SeaWorld's actual penguin habitat. The family-friendly coaster is suitable for riders with heights ranging from 42 inches to 77 inches and is the eighth coaster to be added to the park's portfolio. The design is credited to Bolliger & Mabillard, known for their excellence in roller coaster engineering. Passes are already on sale for the exclusive opportunity to ride before the attraction opens to the public.
Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, will introduce a new thrill ride called Sky Striker next year. Sky Striker is a pendulum-style ride that will reach speeds of up to 75 mph and swing riders 17 stories in the air. It is being touted as the tallest pendulum thrill ride in the Midwest and will be the first new ride at the park in five years. To make room for Sky Striker, the Dare Devil Dive attraction will be removed.
Dorney Park has announced plans for a new roller coaster called Iron Menace, which will be the first dive-style coaster in the Northeast. The coaster will feature a beyond-vertical drop of over 90 degrees and reach speeds of over 60 mph. Dorney Park aims to incorporate the region's historical and industrial roots into the theme of the ride. Iron Menace is set to open in 2024 and will be the first new roller coaster at Dorney Park since 2005. The park is offering a discount on Gold Season passes for 2024, which will provide unlimited access for the rest of this season as well.
