ABC Plans Second 'The Rookie' Spinoff Series
ABC is developing a new spinoff of its popular procedural series 'The Rookie,' set in Washington state and focusing on a male cop entering a new phase of life. This project, written by 'The Rookie' creator Alexi Hawley, follows the show's successful formula of midlife career changes. The original series, starring Nathan Fillion, remains a top performer on ABC and Hulu. The new spinoff is part of an effort to expand 'The Rookie' franchise, following the previous spinoff 'The Rookie: Feds,' which was canceled after one season.
