"Dota 2's TI12 Compendium: Underwhelming or Worth the Buy?"

Valve has released the Dota 2 compendium for The International 12, but it is underwhelming compared to previous years. The compendium focuses solely on the pro scene, with features like predictions, fantasy, and basic game-related cosmetics. A bingo game and challenges related to pro matches have been added, but the overall offering lacks the usual cosmetics and extras. The compendium is still used to crowdfund the prize pool, with 25% of sales going towards it. The update also includes an overhaul of the profile section and the return of permanent supporter packs. The smaller compendium and a challenging year for the pro scene may result in a further decrease in the prize pool compared to last year.

Dota 2 Abandons Battle Pass Model to Focus on Regular Updates.

Valve is getting rid of the Battle Pass system in Dota 2, as most players never buy it and it takes time and resources away from other content updates. Dota 2 will still have content tied to The International and its prize pool, but players won't have any new skins or accessories to grind for. Dota 2 is the first free-to-play game to retire the battle pass system.
