"XLang NLP Lab Introduces Lemur: The Ultimate Text and Code Balancing Language Model"
XLang NLP Lab and Salesforce Research have collaborated to develop Lemur and Lemur-chat, open pretrained large language models (LLMs) that excel in both text and code-related tasks. Lemur is trained on a vast corpus of code-intensive data and fine-tuned on public instructional and dialog data, resulting in enhanced coding and grounding abilities while maintaining competitive textual reasoning and knowledge performance. Lemur surpasses other open-source LLMs on coding benchmarks, while Lemur-chat outperforms other supervised fine-tuned models in bridging the gap between text and code in conversational contexts. The project aims to reshape the language model technology landscape and provide a powerful tool for developers, researchers, and organizations navigating the intersection of language and technology.
