The unanimous vote to impeach Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton by the five Republican representatives from Collin County exposed a statewide rift within the GOP that’s apparently also been playing out in Paxton’s backyard. Changing demographics and some erosion in Republican voting power in Collin County have coincided with allegations and scandals that piled up for Paxton. The next step in his impeachment is a trial before the state Senate — with his wife as a potential juror.
