Pearson emerges victorious in District 86 Democratic primary.
Justin J. Pearson has won the special Democratic primary for Tennessee House District 86, earning over 94% of the vote against his challenger David Page. Pearson will face Independent candidate Jeff Johnston in the August 3 special election. Pearson was previously expelled from the Tennessee House of Representatives in April but was reappointed to his seat a week later.
