Masked gunmen fired into a crowd at a late night teen party at a South Carolina park, wounding nine people. All nine hit by gunfire are expected to live, as well as a woman who was injured when she was run over by a fleeing car and another person who was cut on the hand. Teenagers from several high schools had gathered at the park for the afterhours “flash party” that was announced on social media and not sponsored by the local recreation commission. Two teenagers have been arrested, and investigators are still trying to figure out if the gun found in their vehicle was used in the shooting.
The owners of a Georgia home where two underage drinking parties occurred have been arrested on charges of maintaining a disorderly house and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Two juveniles are also facing charges, while a 17-year-old was charged in a separate investigation involving the same home. The District Attorney presented evidence that 19-year-old Trent Lehrkamp voluntarily drank alcohol to the point of blacking out and was not beaten or tortured. His blood alcohol content was .474, and he would have likely died if not taken to the hospital by the teens. Trent continues to recover at an out-of-state treatment center.
